Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 1, 2026

At Sasquatch Syndicate, Inc., we approach privacy the same way we approach field research — with discipline, intention, and respect. Our approach to your personal data is grounded in transparency, control, and long-term trust with the community we serve. We collect only what is necessary to operate our platform, support our audience, and deliver the content and products our community counts on. If data is not essential to delivering value to you, we simply do not collect it.

This Privacy Policy governs your use of the Sasquatch Syndicate website located at sasquatchsyndicate.com, hosted through Weebly, as well as our podcast, blog, merchandise store, membership platform, social media presence, and all related digital properties and services (collectively, the "Services"). It applies to all users regardless of geographic location, including users in the United States, the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Canada, and all other jurisdictions.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the practices described herein. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our Services.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We are committed to minimal, purposeful data collection. We gather information only in the categories and circumstances described below.

1.1 Information You Provide Directly
We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you:
  • Contact us through our website contact form or by email
  • Subscribe to our newsletter or community mailing list
  • Submit a Sasquatch sighting report, hair sample account, track evidence, or other research contribution
  • Apply to appear on or contribute to the Sasquatch Syndicate podcast
  • Participate in contests, giveaways, surveys, or community events
  • Communicate with us regarding field research, collaboration, or media inquiries

Information you provide may include your name, email address, and general location. We do not require a physical address or phone number unless you are placing a merchandise order or enrolling in a membership through our third-party platforms.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically Through Our Website
Our website is hosted and operated through Weebly, a platform owned by Square, Inc. Sasquatch Syndicate does not independently deploy cookies or tracking technologies on our website. However, as part of standard web hosting operations, Weebly's platform infrastructure may automatically collect certain technical information associated with your visit, including:
  • IP address and approximate geographic location
  • Browser type, version, and language settings
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages visited, time spent, and navigation behavior
  • Referring URLs and search terms used to reach our site
  • Date and time of visit

This technical data collection occurs at the hosting platform level and is governed by Weebly's own privacy practices, which we do not independently control. We encourage you to review Weebly's Privacy Policy at weebly.com/privacy for full details on what Weebly collects through its hosting infrastructure.

1.3 Information Collected Through Our Third-Party Platforms
  • Fourthwall — Public Merchandise Store: We use Fourthwall as our primary public merchandise storefront. When you purchase products through the Sasquatch Syndicate store on Fourthwall, your transaction is processed directly and independently by Fourthwall. Fourthwall collects and processes your name, shipping address, email address, and payment information in accordance with their own privacy policy and applicable data protection law. We do not store your payment card details. We may receive order confirmation data — including your name, shipping address, and items purchased — solely for the purposes of customer service and order fulfillment support. We encourage you to review Fourthwall's Privacy Policy at fourthwall.com for complete details.
  • Square — Internal Membership and Store Transactions: We use Square for internal membership management and certain point-of-sale and store transactions. When payments or membership enrollments are processed through Square, your payment and personal information are handled directly by Square in accordance with Square's Privacy Policy and applicable Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). We do not store full payment card numbers or sensitive financial data. We may retain records of membership status, transaction dates, and associated contact information as necessary to manage your membership relationship with us. We encourage you to review Square's Privacy Policy at squareup.com/privacy for complete details.
  • Weebly — Website Platform: Our website is built and hosted on Weebly, a Square company. As part of its standard hosting operations, Weebly may independently collect technical data associated with visits to websites hosted on its platform. Sasquatch Syndicate does not control Weebly's data collection practices at the infrastructure level. We encourage you to review Weebly's Privacy Policy at weebly.com/privacy and Square's Privacy Policy at squareup.com/privacy for full details on their data practices.
  • Podcast Distribution Platforms: Our podcast is distributed through third-party platforms including but not limited to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and similar services. If you listen to or subscribe to our podcast through these platforms, those platforms collect information about your listening behavior in accordance with their own privacy policies. We may receive aggregate listener statistics but do not receive individually identifiable listener data from these platforms.
  • Social Media Platforms: We maintain an active presence on social media platforms including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. If you interact with our content on these platforms, those platforms collect information in accordance with their own privacy policies. We may receive aggregated analytics about content performance but do not control or receive individually identifiable information about users of those platforms.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information we collect for the following purposes, and no others without your consent:
  • To operate, maintain, and improve our website, podcast, blog, and all related Services
  • To respond to your inquiries, comments, research submissions, and requests
  • To send newsletters, content updates, and community communications where you have opted in to receive them
  • To process and support merchandise orders in coordination with Fourthwall
  • To manage and administer memberships in coordination with Square
  • To analyze how our Services are used and to improve the user experience
  • To detect, investigate, and address technical issues, unauthorized access, fraud, and security concerns
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
  • To contact you in connection with research submissions, evidence contributions, or podcast participation that you have initiated
We will only use your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected, or for compatible purposes, unless we have obtained your consent or are otherwise required or permitted by law.

3. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING — GDPR AND UK GDPR
If you are located in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data only where we have a valid legal basis under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR, as applicable.
  • Consent: Where you have given us clear and explicit consent to process your personal data for a specific purpose, such as subscribing to our newsletter or submitting research materials. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at the details provided in Section 12.
  • Legitimate Interests: Where processing is necessary for our legitimate business interests, and those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms. Our legitimate interests include operating and improving our Services, communicating with our community, maintaining security, and understanding how our audience engages with our content.
  • Performance of a Contract: Where processing is necessary to fulfill an agreement with you, such as administering a membership or providing Services you have requested.
  • Legal Obligation: Where we are required to process your personal data to comply with an applicable legal obligation.

Where we rely on consent as our legal basis, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of any processing carried out prior to withdrawal.

4. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS — CCPA / CPRA
If you are a resident of California, you have specific rights regarding your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

4.1 Categories of Personal Information We Collect
In the preceding twelve months, we have collected the following categories of personal information:
  • Identifiers such as name and email address, where voluntarily provided
  • Internet or other electronic network activity information, such as browsing behavior on our website collected through Weebly's hosting infrastructure
  • Commercial information, such as records of purchases or membership transactions processed through Fourthwall or Square
  • Geolocation data at the general level derived from IP addresses collected through Weebly's hosting infrastructure

4.2 We Do Not Sell or Share Your Personal Information
Sasquatch Syndicate, Inc. does not sell, rent, share, or trade your personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA or CPRA, including the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.

4.3 Your California Privacy Rights
California residents have the right to:
  • Know what personal information we have collected, the categories of sources, the business purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it
  • Access the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
  • Request deletion of personal information we have collected about you, subject to certain legal exceptions
  • Correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — though as stated above, we do not engage in such activities
  • Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information provided in Section 12. We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within 45 days as required by law.

5. ADDITIONAL U.S. STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS
A number of U.S. states have enacted comprehensive consumer privacy laws that may provide residents with rights similar to those described in Section 4. These states currently include Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Florida, Montana, Oregon, and others. If you are a resident of a state with applicable privacy legislation, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing of your personal information. To exercise any applicable state privacy rights, please contact us using the information in Section 12. We will respond in accordance with the law applicable to your state of residence.

6. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
Sasquatch Syndicate, Inc. does not independently deploy, install, or use cookies or tracking technologies on our website. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any other form of tracking technology of our own.

Please be aware, however, that our website is hosted through Weebly, a platform owned by Square, Inc. As part of its standard hosting infrastructure, Weebly may independently place technical cookies or similar technologies on your device in connection with the delivery of our website. This occurs at the platform level and is outside of Sasquatch Syndicate's direct control. These platform-level cookies are governed exclusively by Weebly's and Square's privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review at weebly.com/privacy and squareup.com/privacy.

Similarly, any third-party content embedded on our website — such as social media widgets, video players, or podcast embeds — may independently deploy cookies or tracking technologies governed by those third parties' own policies.

If you wish to limit or block cookies placed by any website you visit, you may do so through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or to be notified when a cookie is being placed. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of websites you visit.

7. SHARING AND DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

7.1 Service Providers and Platform Partners
We share information with Weebly for website hosting, Fourthwall for public merchandise fulfillment, and Square for membership management and internal transactions. These parties are permitted to use your information only to perform services on our behalf and are required to protect your information in accordance with applicable law and their respective privacy frameworks.

7.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information where required by law, regulation, court order, subpoena, or other legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to respond to a lawful government request.

7.3 Business Transfers
In the event that Sasquatch Syndicate, Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

7.4 With Your Consent
We may share your information with third parties when you have given us your explicit and informed consent to do so.
7.5 Aggregated or De-Identified Data
We may share aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you, such as aggregate statistics about our podcast audience, website traffic, or community engagement.

8. DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Newsletter and mailing list information is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Membership and transaction records maintained through Square are retained for the duration of your membership and for a commercially and legally reasonable period thereafter. Research submissions, sighting reports, and evidence contributions are retained as part of our ongoing research archive unless you request deletion.

When information is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it. Where immediate deletion is not possible, we will securely isolate it from further processing until deletion can be completed.

9. DATA SECURITY
Security is built into how we operate. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, and destruction. Our security practices include reliance on the established security infrastructure of our platform partners — Weebly, Fourthwall, and Square — all of which maintain industry-standard security certifications and protocols.

Merchandise and payment transactions are handled entirely by Fourthwall and Square, both of which operate under Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) compliance frameworks. We do not independently receive, transmit, or store payment card information.

While no digital system can guarantee absolute security, we design our approach to data handling to minimize risk and respond promptly to any potential security concerns. If you believe your information may have been compromised in connection with our Services, please contact us immediately at [email protected].

10. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Sasquatch Syndicate, Inc. is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, USA. If you are accessing our Services from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

Our platform partners — Weebly, Fourthwall, and Square — operate global infrastructure and may process data in multiple countries. Each maintains data transfer mechanisms required by applicable law, including Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved mechanisms for transfers from the European Economic Area or United Kingdom to the United States. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies for details on their international data transfer practices.

By using our Services, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other jurisdictions as described in this Privacy Policy.

11. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will take prompt steps to delete such information from our systems.
For users in the European Union and United Kingdom, we do not knowingly process the personal data of children under the age of 16 without verifiable parental consent, in accordance with applicable GDPR requirements.

To exercise any of the rights described above, please contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law — generally within 30 days for GDPR requests and 45 days for CCPA/CPRA requests. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom and believe we have not adequately addressed your concerns, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
