Could Sasquatch Be an Alien Companion or Pet?

Among the countless theories surrounding Sasquatch, few are stranger—or more entertaining—than the idea that Bigfoot may not be the master of its own destiny at all. What if Sasquatch is not a wild creature, an undiscovered primate, or even an interdimensional traveler? What if Sasquatch is something much simpler?

What if Sasquatch is a pet?

At first glance, the idea sounds ridiculous. After all, when most people think of pets, they imagine dogs, cats, birds, or perhaps something a little more exotic. A ten-foot-tall, 800-pound hairy giant roaming the forests of North America hardly fits the image. Yet when one begins examining the broader UFO phenomenon, the theory becomes surprisingly intriguing.

Throughout history, humans have domesticated animals for companionship, work, protection, hunting, transportation, and research. We keep dogs because they are loyal. We keep horses because they are useful. We keep aquarium fish simply because we enjoy observing them. If humanity engages in such behavior, why should we assume advanced civilizations would be any different?

Imagine for a moment a civilization thousands or even millions of years more advanced than our own. Such beings might travel between stars with ease. They may possess technology beyond our understanding. Yet despite all their sophistication, they could still share one very human trait: curiosity.
Perhaps they keep animals too.

What if Sasquatch is not native to Earth at all, but originated elsewhere? An intelligent, adaptable species valued by its owners for reasons we cannot fully comprehend. To an advanced extraterrestrial civilization, a Sasquatch might serve the same role that a large dog serves for a human family. It could be a companion, a worker, a biological scout, or simply a fascinating creature worthy of observation and care.

Suddenly, some of the stranger aspects of the Sasquatch phenomenon begin to take on a different perspective.

Consider the reports linking Sasquatch encounters with UFO activity. For decades, witnesses have reported seeing strange lights, glowing objects, and unidentified craft in areas where Sasquatch sightings occur. Researchers have often struggled to explain why these two seemingly unrelated phenomena overlap so frequently. But under the "pet theory," the connection becomes surprisingly straightforward.

  • The UFO isn't visiting because of Sasquatch.
  • The UFO is visiting to retrieve it.

Many witnesses describe Sasquatch behaving in ways that seem oddly unconcerned about humans. The creature often observes people from a distance, appears curious rather than aggressive, and sometimes vanishes without a trace. Perhaps it knows that no matter what happens, it isn't truly stranded. Its handlers, caretakers, or owners may never be far away.

One can almost imagine the scenario.

A massive cigar-shaped craft arrives silently over a remote forest. A hatch opens. A large hairy creature steps onto Earth for a few hours of exploration. It wanders through the wilderness, catches fish, investigates wildlife, observes human activity, and generally enjoys its freedom. Eventually, the craft returns, and the creature is collected before heading off to wherever it came from.

Absurd?  Perhaps.  But no more absurd than many of the reports themselves.

Some witnesses have described Sasquatch appearing shortly after strange lights were observed overhead. Others have reported seeing UFOs departing areas immediately following encounters. A few accounts even suggest that the creature appeared to be interacting with luminous objects in ways that seemed almost familiar.

Of course, there is another possibility.

Perhaps Sasquatch is not a pet in the traditional sense. Maybe it is more like a working animal. Humanity uses dogs for search and rescue operations, military purposes, law enforcement, livestock protection, and exploration. Advanced civilizations might employ biological species for similar roles. Sasquatch could serve as an environmental monitor, scout, collector, or observer deployed to study ecosystems and gather information.
Under this theory, Sasquatch may be less of a pet and more of a highly valued field operative.

Yet the pet theory remains appealing because it introduces an element of humor into an otherwise serious mystery. After all, if extraterrestrials exist and possess cultures as diverse as our own, why wouldn't they have pets? Why wouldn't they form attachments to other species? Why wouldn't they occasionally let those creatures out for exercise?

Perhaps somewhere in the cosmos, an alien parent is telling their child to make sure the Sasquatch is back aboard the ship before dark.
Perhaps Earth is simply the universe's largest dog park.

Of course, there is absolutely no scientific evidence supporting the idea that Sasquatch is an extraterrestrial pet. The theory exists entirely within the realm of speculation and imagination. Yet one reason the Sasquatch mystery continues to fascinate people is because it allows us to ask unusual questions and explore possibilities that challenge conventional thinking.

Most theories attempt to explain what Sasquatch is.   This one asks a different question.

What if the mystery isn't the creature wandering through the forest?   What if the mystery is who keeps letting it out?
