Community Guidelines

Effective January 1st, 2026 | Washington State, USA | Globally Applicable

This Code of Conduct Applies To: Official Website Forum, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X (Twitter), Discord, and All Other Official Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. Social Media Outlets and Digital Spaces

PREAMBLE
Welcome to Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. These Community Guidelines govern your behavior and participation across every official Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. platform without exception — including but not limited to our website forum, Facebook page and groups, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube channel and comments, X (formerly Twitter), Discord server, and any future platforms or channels we may operate. If you are posting, commenting, reacting, messaging, uploading, or participating in any capacity in any Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. space, these rules apply to you.
We are a Washington State-based community, and these guidelines reflect our obligations under Washington State law, applicable federal United States law, and internationally recognized standards for online conduct. Members participating from outside the United States are also bound by these guidelines and are additionally expected to comply with the laws of their own country as they apply to online behavior.
By participating in any Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. space — on any platform, in any format — you confirm that you have read these guidelines, that you understand them, and that you agree to abide by them. Claiming that you did not read or were not aware of these rules is not a valid defense.

SECTION 1 — WHO WE ARE
Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. is a Washington State-based community organization built around the exploration, discussion, and celebration of cryptozoology, Pacific Northwest folklore, wilderness culture, outdoor adventure, and the broader world of the unexplained and the undiscovered. We welcome believers, skeptics, researchers, adventurers, artists, and curious minds of all kinds.
We maintain an active presence across multiple platforms and in-person events. Everything we do — online and off — is guided by the same core values:
Curiosity over contempt. Evidence over assumption. Inclusion over gatekeeping. Accountability over ego. Respect for people, wildlife, and the natural world.
Every person who joins, follows, subscribes, or participates in any Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. space implicitly agrees to represent those values in how they engage with others.

SECTION 2 — SCOPE OF THESE GUIDELINES
These guidelines apply universally and equally across all of the following official Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. platforms and spaces:
  • The Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. official website and forum
  • The official Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. Facebook page, group(s), and Messenger interactions
  • The official Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. Instagram account, Stories, Reels, and DMs
  • The official Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. TikTok account and comments
  • The official Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. YouTube channel, videos, and comments section
  • The official Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. X (formerly Twitter) account and replies
  • The official Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. Discord server, all channels, DMs, and voice rooms
  • Any future official platform, channel, app, or digital space operated by Sasquatch Syndicate Inc.
  • In-person Syndicate events where digital communication or social posting is involved

Platform-specific terms of service from Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Discord, and others also apply independently. Violating a platform's own rules may result in action taken by that platform in addition to any action we take internally. Our guidelines do not override or replace those terms — they exist alongside them.

SECTION 3 — MEMBERSHIP & ELIGIBILITY

Age Requirements
Participation in Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. spaces is open to individuals aged 13 and older in compliance with the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Members under the age of 18 are considered minors and should have parental or guardian awareness and consent before participating. Any account or participant found to be under the age of 13 will be removed immediately, without warning, and without the possibility of appeal until the individual reaches eligible age.

One Account Per Person
Each individual may maintain only one active account or membership profile per platform. Creating secondary or duplicate accounts — for any reason — is prohibited.
No Ban Evasion
If you have been warned or banned from any Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. space, creating a new account, profile, or alias to re-enter that space is strictly prohibited. Any account found to be a ban evasion account will be immediately and permanently removed. The original ban period or permanent ban status will be reset from the date of discovery. Repeated evasion attempts may be reported to the relevant platform for further action.
Authenticity
You must represent yourself honestly. Impersonating another member, a public figure, a Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. staff member or moderator, or any real person or organization is prohibited and may constitute a violation of Washington State's Consumer Protection Act (RCW 19.86), the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and the terms of service of the platform involved.

SECTION 4 — CONTENT & POSTING RULES

What We Welcome
We actively encourage the following types of content across all our platforms:
  • Original field reports, firsthand sighting accounts, trail camera footage, and wilderness photography
  • Research, analysis, theories, and evidence-based discussion related to cryptozoology and Pacific Northwest folklore
  • Pacific Northwest culture, hiking, conservation, wildlife, and outdoor adventure content
  • Respectful debate, friendly skepticism, and constructive critical discussion
  • Humor, memes, and lighthearted content that fits the spirit of the community
  • Member-created artwork, creative writing, fiction, and fan projects
  • Event announcements, community meetups, and Syndicate news
  • Questions from newcomers and educational or informational content
  • Reviews of books, films, podcasts, expeditions, and related cryptid and wilderness media

What Is Prohibited Across All Platforms

The following content is never permitted in any Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. space on any platform:
  • Graphic violence, gore, or disturbing content depicting real harm to people or animals
  • Sexually explicit or pornographic content of any kind
  • Any content that sexualizes, exploits, grooms, or endangers minors in any way whatsoever — this is a zero-tolerance violation resulting in immediate permanent ban and mandatory referral to law enforcement and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC)
  • Doxxing — posting, sharing, or threatening to share another person's private information including home address, phone number, workplace, financial records, personal relationships, or any other identifying private details without their explicit consent
  • Fabricated or manipulated evidence presented as authentic without disclosure
  • Spam, repetitive posting, flooding comments, unsolicited mass messaging, or off-topic derailing of discussions
  • Content that promotes, instructs, or glorifies illegal activity of any kind
  • Unauthorized commercial advertising, affiliate links, or solicitation without prior written approval from Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. administration
  • Malicious links, phishing attempts, malware, or any content designed to compromise another member's device or data
  • Content depicting or promoting cruelty to animals or harm to wildlife
  • Links to others content without their permission.

Media Standards
All photos, videos, audio, and other media shared in our spaces must be one of the following: original content you created and own; content clearly and properly attributed to its original creator with permission; or content confirmed to be in the public domain.
All alleged cryptid sightings, unusual tracks, unidentified sounds, or other unverified evidence must be clearly labeled. Use the tag [UNVERIFIED] in your post title. AI-generated, digitally altered, or staged content must be disclosed as such. Presenting fabricated or generated content as genuine evidence is a dishonesty violation and may result in disciplinary action.

SECTION 5 — PROFANITY & LANGUAGE

General Language Policy
Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. is an adult-friendly community and we do not operate like a sanitized corporate brand page. Mild and moderate profanity used in casual, non-targeted, and contextually appropriate ways is generally tolerated across our platforms. Words such as damn, hell, crap, ass, and similar mild terms are unlikely to result in moderator action on their own.

Stronger language — including but not limited to the f-word — is discouraged but not automatically punishable when used casually by adults, not directed at another person, and not part of a pattern of disruptive or hostile behavior.

What Is Never Acceptable
  • Profanity used to directly attack, demean, threaten, or belittle another member
  • Slurs of any kind — racial, ethnic, gendered, sexual orientation-based, disability-based, or religion-based — are banned absolutely and unconditionally, in every context, on every platform, regardless of the poster's claimed identity or intent
  • Sexually explicit or graphic language in any public-facing channel or comment section
  • Degrading or abusive language directed at any member who is a minor
  • Language used specifically to intimidate, harass, or cause emotional distress to a specific individual

Moderators exercise contextual judgment. If a moderator determines that language — regardless of specific word choice — is being used to harm, intimidate, or degrade another person, it will be treated as a violation.

SECTION 6 — HATE SPEECH & DISCRIMINATION

Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. does not tolerate hate speech, bigotry, or discrimination in any form on any platform. This is a firm, non-negotiable policy.
Hate speech is defined as any content that dehumanizes, threatens, demeans, or calls for discrimination against individuals or groups based on any of the following characteristics:
  • Race, ethnicity, or national origin
  • Religion or lack of religious belief
  • Gender identity or expression
  • Sexual orientation
  • Disability status, whether physical or mental
  • Age
  • Veteran or military status
  • Immigration or citizenship status
  • Socioeconomic class or background
  • Political affiliation, when expressed in a dehumanizing rather than critical manner

Washington State Legal Context
Washington State's Law Against Discrimination (RCW 49.60) provides broad civil rights protections for residents across public accommodations and other areas of life. While Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. is a private community, we uphold the full spirit of these protections in how we govern ourselves. Members who engage in discriminatory conduct within our spaces may also find themselves in violation of state law depending on the nature and severity of their actions.

Global Context
Members participating from outside the United States are reminded that hate speech and discriminatory conduct may be criminal offenses in their own countries. Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, and many other nations have laws that criminalize certain forms of hate speech. Participating in our community does not protect you from the laws of your own jurisdiction.

SECTION 7 — HARASSMENT & BULLYING
Harassment of any member across any Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. platform will not be tolerated. Harassment includes but is not limited to:
  • Repeatedly targeting a specific member with unwanted contact, comments, or messages after being asked to stop
  • Coordinating with others to mass-report, pile on, or gang up against a specific member
  • Making persistent negative comments about a member's appearance, intelligence, beliefs, or personal life
  • Sending unsolicited threatening, sexually suggestive, or degrading private messages
  • Publicly mocking, humiliating, or ridiculing a member in a sustained and targeted way
  • Threatening a member with real-world harm, damage to their reputation, exposure of private information, or any other form of retaliation
  • Stalking a member's activity across multiple platforms to continue harassment after being blocked or removed from one space
Cyberstalking is a criminal offense under Washington State law (RCW 9A.90.120) and federal law. Threats made online are prosecutable. We take member safety seriously and will cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations when warranted.
If you are being harassed by another member, please document the behavior and report it to our moderation team immediately. We will investigate and act.

SECTION 8 — PRIVACY & PERSONAL DATA
Protecting the privacy of our members is a core responsibility we take seriously. The following rules apply to all members across all platforms:
  • Do not share, post, or reference another member's personal information without their explicit consent
  • Do not share screenshots of private messages, direct messages, or private group conversations without the consent of all parties shown
  • Do not attempt to identify anonymous or pseudonymous members without their consent
  • Do not collect, compile, or distribute personal data about members for any purpose
  • Do not use information shared in one context (such as a private conversation) to embarrass, harm, or expose someone in a public context

Washington State Privacy Law
Washington State has enacted some of the strongest privacy protections in the United States, including the Washington My Health MY Data Act and the Washington Privacy Act framework. Members who engage in unauthorized collection or misuse of other members' personal data may face civil liability under these statutes. Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. complies with applicable state and federal privacy law in our own data handling practices and expects members to respect privacy in their interactions with one another.

Global Privacy Standards
Members from the European Union and European Economic Area are protected by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Members from California are protected by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Members from Canada are protected by PIPEDA. We acknowledge these frameworks and design our community conduct standards to be compatible with their spirit globally.

SECTION 9 — INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Respect for intellectual property is required across all Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. platforms. The following rules apply:
  • Do not post copyrighted material — including music, film clips, book excerpts, photographs, artwork, or other creative works — without proper authorization, license, or attribution
  • Do not claim credit for content you did not create
  • Do not reproduce or redistribute Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. original content, branding, logos, or creative work without express written permission from administration
  • If you share AI-generated content, clearly label it as AI-generated
  • If you share content created by another person or organization, credit the original source clearly and visibly
Copyright violations may implicate the federal Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. will respond to valid DMCA takedown notices and will act against members who engage in repeat copyright infringement.

SECTION 10 — ILLEGAL ACTIVITY & WASHINGTON STATE LAW
Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. does not permit and will not protect members who use our platforms to engage in, plan, coordinate, or promote illegal activity of any kind.
Prohibited under this section includes but is not limited to:
  • Discussions intended to coordinate theft, vandalism, trespassing, or property damage
  • Buying, selling, or trading illegal substances, weapons, or contraband
  • Sharing or soliciting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — this will result in immediate permanent ban and mandatory law enforcement referral without exception
  • Fraud, scamming, phishing, or any scheme to deceive others for financial gain
  • Threats of violence against individuals or groups, which may violate RCW 9A.36.080 (Washington State criminal threatening statute) and federal law
  • Cyberstalking or online harassment rising to the level of criminal conduct under RCW 9A.90.120
  • Unauthorized access to computer systems, networks, or accounts, which may violate the Washington Computer Crimes Act (RCW 9A.90) and the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act
  • Violating Washington State's wiretapping and privacy laws (RCW 9.73) by recording or sharing private communications without consent
  • Any activity that violates Washington State's Consumer Protection Act (RCW 19.86) including deceptive trade practices within our community marketplace or promotional spaces

Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. will cooperate fully and without hesitation with law enforcement — local, state, federal, or international — when presented with valid legal process or when we become aware of criminal activity occurring in our spaces.

SECTION 11 — MISINFORMATION & FRAUDULENT CLAIMS
We are a cryptozoology and folklore community — we love a good mystery and we welcome unverified claims, fringe theories, and imaginative speculation. That is part of who we are. However, there is a meaningful difference between sharing unverified content in good faith and deliberately deceiving the community.

The following are prohibited:
  • Presenting fabricated, staged, or digitally altered evidence as authentic without disclosure
  • Impersonating scientists, researchers, law enforcement, or officials to lend false authority to claims
  • Spreading deliberate health, safety, or emergency misinformation that could endanger members
  • Creating false urgency or panic within the community through fabricated stories or events
  • Financial fraud, including fake fundraisers, fake merchandise, or false donation solicitations using the Syndicate's name or community trust
We encourage healthy skepticism and open debate. If you believe content in our community is fraudulent, use the report function on the relevant platform or contact our moderation team directly.

SECTION 12 — COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY, ADVERTISING & SPAM
Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. spaces are community spaces, not open advertising platforms. The following commercial conduct rules apply across all platforms:
  • Unsolicited advertising of any product, service, or business is prohibited without prior written approval from Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. administration
  • Affiliate links, referral codes, or monetized links may not be posted without explicit approval
  • Members may share their own relevant creative work (art, books, merchandise) in appropriate designated channels, provided it is done sparingly and in the spirit of community sharing rather than commercial promotion
  • No member may use Sasquatch Syndicate Inc.'s name, logo, branding, or community reputation to market their personal products or services without a formal written agreement
  • Multi-level marketing promotions, pyramid scheme invitations, or get-rich-quick solicitations are banned outright
  • Spam — defined as repetitive, irrelevant, or bulk posting designed to flood channels or game platform algorithms — is prohibited and will result in immediate content removal and disciplinary action
If you are interested in becoming an official partner, sponsor, or vendor, please contact Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. administration through official channels.

SECTION 13 — ENFORCEMENT: THE WARNING & BAN SYSTEM
Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. operates a clear, consistent, and fair enforcement system across all platforms. Our goal is not to punish — it is to maintain a safe and enjoyable community. However, we take rule violations seriously and act accordingly.

STEP 1 — FORMAL WARNING
For most violations, a member will receive one formal warning. This warning will:
  • Identify the specific rule that was violated
  • Reference the content or behavior in question
  • Outline what must change going forward
  • Be delivered via the relevant platform's messaging system or via email where applicable

A formal warning is on record. It does not expire. If a second violation occurs at any point after a warning has been issued — even months or years later — the member moves directly to Step 2.

STEP 2 — PERMANENT BAN
Following one formal warning, any subsequent violation of these guidelines will result in a permanent ban from the platform on which the second violation occurred. Depending on the severity and nature of the second violation, the ban may be extended to all Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. platforms simultaneously at the discretion of the moderation team.
A permanent ban means:
  • Immediate removal of the member's account from the relevant platform(s)
  • All content posted by the member may be removed at moderator discretion
  • The member is not permitted to rejoin under any name or alias
  • Any ban evasion attempt will be treated as an additional violation and reported to the platform

IMMEDIATE PERMANENT BAN — NO WARNING
The following violations bypass the warning system entirely and result in immediate permanent ban upon discovery, with no appeal accepted for a minimum of 12 months:
  • Any content involving the sexual exploitation of minors (CSAM) — also referred to law enforcement immediately
  • Doxxing another member with clear intent to harm
  • Credible threats of real-world violence against a specific individual or group
  • Coordinated harassment campaigns targeting a member
  • Criminal activity conducted through or facilitated by our platforms
  • Ban evasion following a permanent ban

SEVERITY DISCRETION
Moderation staff reserve the right to bypass the warning step and issue an immediate permanent ban for any single violation that they determine — in their reasonable professional judgment — to be severe enough to warrant it. Examples include a first-time offense that is egregious, targeted, or causes significant harm to another member. This discretion will be applied consistently and documented.

SECTION 14 — APPEALS PROCESS
If you believe a warning or ban was issued in error or without sufficient cause, you have the right to appeal.

How to Appeal
Submit your appeal in writing to the official Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. moderation contact email within 30 days of receiving the warning or ban. Your appeal must include your username or account name on the relevant platform, the date and nature of the action taken against you, a clear and specific explanation of why you believe the action was unwarranted, and any supporting context or evidence you wish to present.
Appeals for immediate permanent bans related to child exploitation, credible violence threats, or criminal activity will not be reviewed for a minimum of 12 months from the date of the ban.

What to Expect
Appeals will be reviewed by a member of the Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. moderation team who was not involved in the original decision where possible. You will receive a written response within 14 business days. The decision reached on appeal is final.
Appeals submitted in bad faith, containing abusive language toward staff, or clearly intended to harass the moderation team will be dismissed without response.

SECTION 15 — MODERATOR CONDUCT & ACCOUNTABILITY
Our moderators are community members who volunteer their time or are appointed by administration to help maintain these standards. They are held to the same guidelines as everyone else — and to an even higher standard of conduct given their position.
Moderators are expected to act with fairness, consistency, and transparency. They may not use their position to settle personal scores, target members they dislike, or selectively enforce rules. If you believe a moderator has acted improperly, you may escalate your concern to Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. administration in writing.
Moderation decisions are documented internally. Patterns of moderator misconduct will result in removal of moderator status.

SECTION 16 — REPORTING VIOLATIONS
Every official Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. platform has a reporting mechanism. We encourage all members to use them when they witness violations of these guidelines.  When you report something, please include as much context as possible — screenshots, links, usernames, and a brief description of what occurred and why it concerns you. Reports are reviewed by moderation staff and handled confidentially. We do not share the identity of reporting members with the member being reported.

False reporting — submitting reports you know to be untrue in order to target or harass a member — is itself a violation of these guidelines and will be treated as such.

SECTION 17 — AMENDMENTS & UPDATES
Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. reserves the right to amend, update, or revise these Community Guidelines at any time. When significant changes are made, we will notify the community through an announcement on the official website and across our primary social platforms. The updated guidelines will carry a new effective date.

Continued participation in any Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. space following the posting of updated guidelines constitutes acceptance of those updates. If you disagree with a change, you may contact administration in writing. If you do not accept the updated guidelines, you should discontinue participation.

SECTION 18 — CONTACT & ADMINISTRATION
For questions about these guidelines, to submit an appeal, to report moderator misconduct, or to inquire about official partnerships and commercial arrangements, please contact Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. administration through the official contact channel listed on our website.
Do not send rule-related inquiries through personal social media DMs to individual moderators or staff members. All formal communications must go through official channels to be properly documented and addressed.

CLOSING STATEMENT
Sasquatch Syndicate Inc. exists because people share a love for the wild, the mysterious, and the community that forms around that shared passion. These guidelines exist to protect that community — to make sure it remains a place where everyone, from the most dedicated field researcher to the most casual newcomer, feels welcome, safe, and respected.

We believe in second chances — which is why we give one formal warning before a ban. We also believe in accountability — which is why that second chance is the last one.
