Sasquatch isn’t the only cryptid that we believe exists out there, we’ve probably all heard of the Loch Ness Monster and Rougarou, but what about Afghanistan giants—possibly the Nephilim? It was 2002, when an alleged, still classified military mission came across these creatures. All the soldiers of a patrol in a report part of Afghanistan mysteriously went missing without a word, so a search party was sent out to see if they could find out what had happened. The rescue party was descending a goat path down the side of a mountain when they came across a cave that had lots of rock, “bone matter” and a piece of what one soldier identified as military communication equipment outside of it. The whole situation seemed off when, out of the cave they saw something moving at a speed higher than they expected, barrelling out of the cave. It was a monster—one with long, scarlet red hair past his shoulders and a scraggly beard. He was “at least 12 to 15 feet in height” and 1,100 lbs. It had six fingers and six toes, and it smelled “worse than a skunk” akin to a corpse that had been dead for a while. The creature, three times the size of a man, came charging out of the cave and managed to “skewer” one of the soldiers on a pike before they managed to kill it. In the aftermath, the large, unexplained body was taken by a special unit. And, to make matters more mysterious, while the original after-action report that contained the entire story was rewritten. Afghanistan Giant Killed: What Do We Know? The Afghanistan Giant that was allegedly killed in 2002, sounds like it could be describing Sasquatch, or some relative creature. With its large stature, scraggly hair, strength and foul odor, is it possible the patrol ran into the Afghanistan version?
Many people familiar with this encounter actually believe the Afghanistan Giant to be a Nephilim, not a Sasquatch. The Nephilim is a biblical creature resulting from the mating of divine beings with human women. They are written about in the books of Genesis, Ezekiel and Numbers, and are described as being “great warriors and Biblical giants.” While Snopes.com stated that the U.S. government said that they have no record or information regarding a death involving a giant. If the mission continues to remain classified, it’s not terribly surprising. Some conspiracy theorists on Reddit propose that certain regions of the countries closed for travel are reserve-type spaces closed off so that visitors don’t disrupt the giant population in the country. However, it’s much more likely that these areas are dangerous to travel due to political forces. But, the real question is, could this creature really be a Nephilim? It’s a true mystery to ponder.
